Terms

NateTheGreat.art Battleground is an independent entertainment site: public scoreboards for arguments the internet is already having. Here's what participating means, in plain language.

What a vote is

Voting is free. One vote per battle per browser adds one point of public support to the side you chose on a live scoreboard. That's the entire product. No account, no email, no payment.

What a vote is not

A vote is not a bet, a wager, an entry, or a purchase. There are no prizes, no payouts, and no winnings — nothing to win or lose except the argument. Battle results are measurements of public opinion among the people who voted here; they decide nothing, declare no legal conclusions, and confer no rights.

One vote, counted honestly

One vote per battle per browser, enforced server-side with an anonymous browser identifier. Scores come only from recorded votes; nothing is seeded, faked, or inflated. We remove votes we determine to be automated or fraudulent; such corrections are logged internally. When a battle's clock runs out, its result is frozen permanently — including ties.

The clock is the clock

Every battle has a server-side closing time. Votes after the close don't count. The deadline means the deadline.

About the matchups

Battles summarize real public disputes as neutrally as we can and link out to sources where available. Battleground takes no side, and names like "LSU" or "SEC" are used descriptively. Battleground is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any organization named in a battle. We may cancel any battle for safety, legal, or moderation reasons; canceled battles score nothing.

Historical paid features

Earlier versions of this site sold $1 wall spots (Genesis) and paid battle participation. Those purchases keep their original terms, their history is preserved, and any outstanding Pay It Forward commitments from that era will still be honored with public receipts at /impact. If a past payment needs attention — including a payment into a battle that was later canceled, which is always eligible for a refund — email support@natethegreat.art.

Genesis — the Wall

Spots on the original Wall keep their existing terms: a claim is the right to occupy and customize one numbered position in the artwork, permanently. A spot is not an investment or an asset, and moderation can hide content while preserving history.

The project

We may evolve the site — new battles and formats — while preserving battle history and the permanence of Genesis spot numbers. If the project ever winds down, we'll aim to preserve a public archive. Questions: support@natethegreat.art.
