Privacy
We store as little as possible. Here's the full picture.
Voting
Votes are anonymous. When you vote we set a random identifier in a browser cookie and store only a one-way hash of it, next to the battle and the side you picked — that hash is how "one vote per browser" is enforced, and it identifies nobody. We don't store full IP addresses; abuse protection uses short-lived salted hashes. No account, no email, no fingerprinting.
Cookies
Three first-party cookies exist: the anonymous voter id above, an anonymous random visitor id for aggregate analytics, and a referral code if you arrived through someone's share link. No third-party trackers, no ad pixels.
Analytics
We record first-party product events (page views, battle views, votes, shares) tied to the anonymous visitor id, to understand how the site is used. This data stays with the project. Live "watching" counts are anonymous heartbeats in an ephemeral store — no identities, nothing durable.
Historical purchases
Earlier paid features (Genesis wall spots, paid battle participation) recorded the amount, time, and Stripe's transaction identifiers — never card details, which only Stripe sees — plus an X handle when the buyer chose public credit.
What we never expose
Emails, payment identifiers, vote hashes, moderation notes, and admin metadata are never shown publicly.
Removal
Want a historical handle removed from public display, or your Genesis profile hidden? Email support@natethegreat.art, or message us on X from that handle, and we'll hide it. Aggregate scores and spot numbers stay part of the site's history — they were always public aggregates.
